Manchester, UK – The worldwide phenomena of the Global Service Jam hits Manchester this year as at Large, Inc. is announced as the hosts of the Manchester Service Jam, 7-9 March 2014. Founded on Service Design principles, and bringing together a global network of diverse disciplines, the event will unite people that simply want to understand how to create a better experience for their customer. It welcomes all and excludes none; so come to the jam, join a team, get ready to learn and share the experience of Service Design.

Take Part In The Manchester Service Jam – The Global Service Jam takes place in more than 120 towns and cities worldwide. It brings together a global community who, in the spirit of experimentation, innovation, and friendly competition, will be united by a common theme: to explore and reassess what we understand as a ‘service’ that is designed with a customer at its core. Using this theme, teams will have fewer than 48 hours to develop and prototype completely new services inspired by the principles of Service Design. At the end of the weekend, these ideas become concrete designs, prototypes and plans of action that are published for the world to see.

The Manchester Service Jam offers participants a deeper understanding of Service Design through interactive activities, workshops and short presentations. It is a non- profit event, and is focused on reinventing service and enhancing the user experience. It offers the chance to connect with Service Designers locally and globally, and the opportunity to continue the conversation in a global network of thought leaders. All disciplines are welcome, professionals and students alike. The thinkers, doers, dabblers and makers, everyone can bring their energy and ideas to the event, which will take place on the evening of the 7th, daytime of 8th and will close on the afternoon of the 9th.
