This weeks slice of advice comes from Ministry of Craft:
“If you have a pair of fine dressmaking scissors such as these amazing Janome XN5250S Pro Ser Tailors (which we use in our studios), you must never ever EVER cut paper with them! It will dull the blades and stop them from cutting your fabric so neatly and cleanly. You must also never ever EVER let your husband cut the stems of flowers with them. It will leave horrible rusty marks and you will never be able to look at him in the same way again. I speak from experience.
For more dressmaking hints and tips why not check out our Sewing Patterns Decoded course on Saturday 17th June? You’ll learn all you need to know about following a dress pattern, plus you’ll get 10% off at Fred Aldous on the day of your course, so these scissors could be yours for a snip!”
