International Women’s Day 2016 08 Mar

We proudly support International Women’s Day and today we are celebrating female creativity. We have looked to one of our favourite social media tools, Instagram, to pick five women in the visual arts who we think you should be following.

#1 Sarah K Benning

Sarah Benning is an American contemporary fibre based artist who is currently based in Spain. Her Instagram is full of her wonderful embroidery of elements from the natural world.

#2 The Printed PeanutPeanut

Louise Lockhart aka The Printed Peanut produces illustrated products for grown ups and kids, many of which we stock. Her Instagram is full of the lovely things that she makes which are all manufactured in the UK using eco friendly products where possible.

#3 Jen Stark

Jen Stark’s Instagram always brightens up our feed. Her psychedelic work explores patterns, colour and repetition. She is most widely known for her paper sculptures but she also works with wood, metal, paint and animation.

#4 Helen Musselwhite


Helen’s gorgeous paper sculptures were recently taking pride of place in our Manchester window. Her Instagram is full of pictures of her work, and the occasional snap of her pet dog!

#5 Jessica Dance

Can you believe that these Nike Dunks are knitted?! Jessica Dance is a textile artist, model maker and prop stylist who specialises in handcrafted props and models which she shares on her Instagram along with snaps from her daily life.
