MakeFest is back again, taking over the Museum of Science and Industry for a weekend of coding, crafting and creating. The museum welcomes makers and crafters, tinkerers and artists, from all over the North West and beyond to get visitors involved in DIY science, art, and engineering. Try everything, make something, and get your geek on.
· Be part of the magnificent Manchester Robot Orchestra – visitors can help make robots that play musical instruments and listen to performances
· Travel back in time with Minecraft – visitors will help FACT, Liverpool, as they create a Minecraft version of the oldest surviving passenger railway station (now part of our site). This is a project funded through winning the North West Business Leadership Team Lever Prize with FACT.
· You can also make and race an electric car or try woodworking, textile printing and toy hacking.
There will also be the big reveal of the museum’s Lever Prize project with Liverpool’s FACT, mixing the real and the virtual in Minecraft.
