I needed some Silica Gel packs for my car, which tends to steam up a bit. Having discovered that they are used for drying flowers, I tried the craft section in John Lewis, and then the two large art and craft supply shops near me, but none had them. One did recommend Fred Aldous, though, so I ordered them on-line.
They are doing their job very well: the colour change is very helpful for seeing when they need drying. And the price was good, too: they are excellent value.

Craig Hewitt asked on 27/10/2014:
Hi will my flowers retain their fragrance if dried in a sealed container of silica gel ? ]Thanks
It depends which flowers you are using. Certain flowers will retain their scent better than others, for example Lavender holds its fragrance long after it has been dried. It also will depend on how fresh your flowers are. Hope this helps
