Biots are the narrow part of a goose quill. The narrow part is stripped from the quill. This produces a stiff very elegant feather. These biots have been sewn on to fabric for ease of attaching to costumes, masks and hats. Approximately 6cm of fabric. The Biot is a particularily versatile feather - it can be absolutely stunning used as it comes, but can also be curled or knotted to produce quite remarkable effects.
