Great to work with, perhaps a little too hard for 3-4 year-olds, but would be fine for school age kids. Rolled the whole 1kg blob out to make a keepsake with my children's hand and footprints. That was hard work, had more luck with Crayola air dry as it's softer, but to be fair, Sculpt clay isn't really intended for that purpose. Didn't crack at all while drying, although it did warp and shrink somewhat. But again you'd expect that of a 1kg, 1/2-inch thick slab of clay! Pieces stick well together while wet, and I had no problem sticking "feet" made of leftover (wet) bits to prop up the (dry) slab. Wet clay stuck well to the dry piece and didn't come off when dry.

it is by far the best air drying clay to work with it may notbe as pliable at first as others but makes much better stronger models

Nice and easy!
This is nice and easy to use. You can do just about anything with it - I used mine to make a pile of brick slips for my Tudor style dollshouse. I simply rolled out the produced quite thinly (I used a granite slab for this, but any smooth surface would do) and then cut it to shape using a cardboard template. Very much cheaper (and more realistic looking) than many other options on the market. To rough the surface, simply stipple it gently with an old toothbrush. One word of caution - for the best results don't allow the clay to dry on the surface it was rolled out on... because it will stick. I used a kitchen spatula to gently remove it to a sheet of grease proof paper where it dried really well. Very pleased with the finished results - you get a nice smooth finish too!

What items do you have that are suitable for a 10 year old boy who wants to do modelling?
Air drying clay is a popular choice, the polymer clay (Fimo) also are quite good - http://www.fredaldous.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=fimo
