We like testing new ideas and are constantly looking to improve the kind of results you can expect from laser cutting. 

One of these ideas is to cover your material completely with a layer of masking tape before engraving and cutting, greatly reducing burn marks on wood and steam marks on acrylic. 

Here are some tests we did using this method, and before we removed the tape, we used orange spray paint to fill the engraved 'make anything', using the masking tape as a stencil. 

On the arrow with black text we placed acrylic letters into the engraved arrow.
