A LABOUR OF LOVE
Anyone who's visited our stores knows how much we love photobooths. There's no substitute for the texture, imperfections and pure spontaneity they capture. Invented in 1925 and once everywhere, the analogue photobooth is a small mechanical darkroom you can sit inside. Paper, tanks of chemistry, four flashes, four minutes. Fewer than 300 working booths remain in the world, kept alive by a small global community of amazing operators. Their help has been invaluable. Keeping ours running is its own quiet labour. And we are learning something every day. We think it's worth every minute.
GEORGE - 1968 Photo-Me Model 17a Black & White Photo Booth
This is the first booth we acquired. The mighty George, a Photo-Me Model 17 Black and White booth from 1968. It was manufactured right here in the UK but spent most of its life in a Woolworth’s store in Canada.

Our oldest Photobooth, Freda, this completely original piece of the 60’s, has been kept alive thanks to a few dedicated ‘boothers’, without whom it could have been lost to history.

Flo has had a full refurb. After months of tinkering, rewiring, replacing parts and a good old polish, she's finally found her forever home in our Leeds shop on Kirkgate. Step in, draw the curtain, take a seat. She's ready when you are.
