Tensile Strength 400. Compressibility: 30 - 50%. Boiling Water: No Disaggregation. Cork is the bark of the Cork Oak tree (Quercus suber L). Harvested every nine years, without any tree being felled during the process. It is a completely natural raw material, with unique properties which give it an unrivalled character. It is light, impermeable to liquids and gases, elastic and compressible, provides thermal and acoustic insulation, is a fire retardant and highly abrasion-resistant. Furthermore, it is completely biodegradable, renewable and recyclable. Cork sheets can be easily cut and are perfect for pin boards, model making and even acoustic insulation.
