Join Wallace Seymour and Jane Cockayne for a Drawing the City workshop

On Saturday the 4th of February The Workbench are taking over our classroom space in Manchester for a day of Silver Ring Making workshops.

Get creative with modern calligraphy and work it into your daily writing, cards and events! This workshop is designed for those piqued by the art of calligraphy and specially tailored to beginners who wish to explore this art of writing with a pointed pen. Taking a modern spin, you will enjoy a 3 hour workshop learning about the basics of calligraphy consisting of handling a pointed pen, drills, letter forms and finally be well equipped to create a simple artwork at the end of the session.

Artsy Nibs, otherwise known as Joyce Lee is running a series of Calligraphy workshops next door to our Manchester store in Foundation Coffee House.

For their next exhibition offering PLY have flown over Kayla Mattes from America for her solo exhibition, User Interface. Renowned for her Neo ‘90s knitwear collection, cartoon CATZ created from ASC11 art (or text art, to you and us), neon LinkedIn jewellery, woven pizzas (naturally) and now tapestries inspired by a world where smartphones and computers are commonplace.

  New York based artist, teacher, and writer Andrew Salomone is heading to PLY to prove there’s more to pizza than meets the eye. Andrew is an experimental artist who works with traditional art and craft processes informed by technology and DIY culture.
